Areas located in the southeastern part of the Serra de Paranapiacaba, with altitudes ranging from 600 to 950m. The original biome is made up of humid tropical forest, of the Dense Ombrophilous type. The areas are connected to the largest Atlantic Forest massif in the country through the Meandros Sama- Jurupará Ecological Corridor

(created by the founder of the Institute).
