The founder
IMPAR was born from the desire to perpetuate the legacy of environmental preservation, driven by the founder's life project.
Engineer and Biologist, the founder acquired his first area in the Juquitiba / Ibiúna region in 1974. Together with his family, he began his agricultural production project in harmony with environmental preservation. Later, he expanded the property by acquiring other areas of surrounding Atlantic Forest.

The property
Currently the areas are made up of four territories: Meandros, Meandros Sama, Meandros São Sebastião and Meandros Vargedo, which combined have an area of 8,000 ha.
Due to the size of the acquired areas, the founder developed
and implemented the idea of creating an Ecological Corridor of the Atlantic Forest, which unified them with other important environmental protection areas such as Jurupará State Park, Legado das Águas and Serra do Mar State Park, which thus became part of the largest massif of Atlantic Forest in our country (Meanders-Sama-Jurupará Ecological Corridor).
Reforestation & Preservation
In the past, some areas that today belong to the Ecological Corridor were deforested, which motivated the founder to start a reforestation project with the aim of restoring native vegetation. Also with the aim of increasing the protected area, new neighboring areas were gradually acquired.
For reforestation, a nursery was created to produce native seedlings which, over time, grew and currently has the capacity to produce 500,000 seedlings per year.
The reforestation project, together with the seedling nursery, is constantly expanding, driven by the commitment to perpetuate and preserve the environment.
The founder also established Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs) within the properties, covering areas of standing forest. In this way, these regions remained preserved.

IMPAR Legacy
To guarantee the continuity of this entire project, throughout future generations, the founder and his family created IMPAR (Meandros Institute for Environmental Preservation and Reforestation).
It is a non-profit entity whose main mission is the preservation, conservation and restoration of the Atlantic Forest biome, as well as the inclusion of the local community and population in general, through environmental education, ecotourism, social assistance and creation of leisure and learning spaces that will certainly contribute to valuing our environment.
Currently, the Institute is maintained through a spontaneous donation from the family and is the owner of all previously acquired areas. If new areas are acquired, this will be done directly in the name of the Institute
